Senior Web Engineer

About the role

As our Senior Web Engineer, you will partner with Marketing, Creative, and Engineering to own dovetail.com end to end. Our website carries our category story, product launches, customer proof, and the paths that turn interest into pipeline.

You’ll own both what customers see and the system behind it. You’ll ship high-craft pages and interactions, while improving the architecture, components, content models, instrumentation, and delivery workflows that let the wider team move quickly without lowering the quality bar.

You do not need to arrive an expert in our current stack, but you need deep web fundamentals and the judgment to improve a production codebase.

This is a senior individual contributor role for a builder. You’ll set direction, ship code yourself, and turn good engineering decisions into systems the whole team can use.

This is a full-time in person-first role (in office 4 days a week), working from our Surry Hills HQ.

What you’ll do

• Own dovetail.com. Take responsibility for the production health, technical roadmap, architecture, and ongoing development of our marketing website.

• Ship high-craft web experiences. Turn ambitious creative and marketing ideas into responsive, accessible, production-quality pages and interactions. Protect the design intent through to the final browser render.

• Build the platform behind the pages. Improve our reusable components, design tokens, typed content models, page-generation pipelines, and authoring workflows so launches, customer stories, solution pages, and campaigns can ship quickly and safely.

• Build for growth. Partner with Demand Generation and Growth to improve landing pages optimized for conversation, forms, calls to action, personalization, and high-intent journeys. Implement trustworthy experiments, analytics, and lead integrations so we can see what works.

• Make the site fast, findable, and reliable. Improve Core Web Vitals, page weight, image delivery, accessibility, metadata, structured data, redirects, cross-browser behavior, testing, and deployment reliability.

• Build an AI-powered web function. Use coding agents and AI-assisted workflows to improve implementation, testing, quality assurance, migrations, and content operations. Build internal tools and guardrails that help the wider team move faster without trading away quality.

• Lead through the work. Set standards through code review, documentation, and clear architecture decisions. Explain tradeoffs well and raise the capability of everyone who contributes to the website.
